Kindred Home Health

Kindred at Home logoKensington Place provides strong clinical oversight and management through our excellent 24-hour Nursing Team.  We are committed to help our residents stay active and healthy for as long as possible. At times our residents need an extra layer of support to strengthen their skills or to recover from an illness or injury. We partner on-site at Kensington Place with Kindred Home Health to help our residents recover safely and more independently in comfortable surroundings. Kindred Home Health works seamlessly with your Kensington Place family to provide care designed specifically for your loved one’s needs and abilities, whether you need skilled nursing and rehabilitation or non-medical personal assistance. Kindred Home Health, in partnership with Kensington Place, is designed to help your loved one take control of treatment, make changes that may prevent future declines in health, improve safety and prevent unwanted hospital visits. We provide care centered on your needs and abilities. Our goal is help you recover to the fullest extent possible as quickly as your treatment allows.

Kindred Hospice

At Kensington Place, we love and care for your family as our own.  Our goal is to help your loved one live every moment fully and with meaning. When end of life is near, we value these moments even more. Your Kensington Place family considers it an honor to care for your loved one in the last stage of life. Our residents also have the option of bringing in an additional layer of support through Hospice while living in our community. Hospice care may be right for your loved one when living with an end-stage illness, which has a six-month life expectancy, should the disease run its normal course. Should one choose Hospice, our residents can remain in their suite, that has become home, while continuing to receive care from the team they have come to love as family. Our primary partnership is with Kindred Hospice.  Kindred Hospice exemplifies our hallmarks of protecting dignity, engaging family and friends and enriching each day. At the center of Kindred hospice is the belief that each of us has the right to die pain free, with dignity, and that our families will receive the necessary support to allow us to do so.

Kindred partners with your Kensington Place family to provide the physical, emotional and spiritual resources needed to make the most of every moment, with the extraordinary service you expect. We understand your needs and goals, and support both in each step of your journey.

Eversound

Eversound is an advanced audio technology system that allows residents to fully enjoy the benefits of programs and activities. These group wireless headphones allow residents to hear better and enjoy enhanced social interactions. Eversound headphones can be worn with or without hearing aids during group activities including movies, music, presentations, outings, and any activity that involves audio.

Our residents enjoy using the Eversound headphones because it:

  • Facilitates better health, well-being, and quality of life
  • Provides supportive family visiting experiences
  • Enables individuals to be active participants in residents’ care

With the support of Eversound, our residents can better enjoy the activities at Kensington Place and gain a deeper connection with those around them.

Creative Journal Expressive Arts & Visioning®

How CJEA works for Family and Staff members:

Creative Journal Expressive Arts & Visioning® methods taught by Marsha Nelson, PhD help to enrich the Kensington Place family members and staff lives  by encouraging them to use the right hemisphere of their brain through various forms of Art including clay, mask-making (pictured right), drawing, journaling, and movement to music, collage, etc. It has been scientifically proven in order to access emotions, creativity such as art and music, intuition, higher power, the right brain must be accessed. The workshops presented to the Kensington Place family members and staff have been well received during the quarterly visits by Dr. Marsha Nelson, co-founder of the Creative Journal Expressive Arts and Visioning® certification training program co-founder and worldwide workshop facilitator.

Pictured left, displays a wonderful sample from the staff member’s work which was depicting how they felt now and how they visualize their future. This work was done via the torn paper art with drawing and journaling with their dominate/non-dominant hand.
