Memory care deeply affects more than just one individual. At Kensington Place Redwood City, we understand how memory loss touches the lives of not only our residents, but their family and friends as well.
We cherish the fact that every single day, we get the chance to contribute care, attention, and friendship to our residents.
Our memory care program considers the degree of memory loss, the comfort and safety of the individual, and all the ways we can preserve and enhance their quality of life.
Kensington Place, located in beautiful San Mateo County, welcomes couples and beloved family pets to our community. We understand how preserving your loved ones’ routines and enhancing familiarity is essential to their health and wellbeing.

We provide a full spectrum of memory care support at Kensington Place, across two specialized neighborhoods. These neighborhoods ensure all residents experiencing memory loss, from the early to late stages, receive the most accurate level of care.
In addition, friends and families of residents have access to resources and a community of caregivers and professionals that are here to support you as much and your loved one.
Kensington Place also hosts events to inform and educate residents and their families on how to make the most of visits, how food can boost brain health, and how our rehabilitation and fitness programs can improve our residents’ wellbeing.
The Kensington Place executive chef and dining team have an ambitious goal: excellence in cuisine, presentation, service, and atmosphere. According to residents and visitors, they excel in this goal every day.
In a sophisticated, elegant dining room, our talented team serves meals to residents and family that are flavorful and nutritious. Diverse menu selections are regularly rotated, with high quality ingredients.
At The Kensington, we like having our residents around, so we’ve made space in our family for them and theirs – in our hearts and at our table. With complimentary meals for friends and families at all times, we invite you to slow down, strengthen bonds and make memories at the Kensington.

Our team understands the debilitating patterns of Alzheimer’s and dementia, and the toll it takes on individuals and families. That’s why we continually seek ways to capitalize on our residents’ strengths, despite their degree of memory loss.
We encourage and guide residents and families to embrace special moments with their loved ones, and focus on helping them thrive.
We truly allow our residents to “age in place” in a safe, loving community where their needs will be accommodated no matter how they change over time.
We execute these goals by providing professional, loving medical care to your loved one, including:
We also provide Pocket Programming, which allows each resident to participate in small-group activities based on their interests and abilities. These individualized service plans tailor to residents’ personal talents and favorite pastimes.
With a high staff-to-resident ratio, our exceptional Alzheimer’s and dementia care puts the focus on each resident individually, including their unique strengths and preferences.
Memory care is not one size fits all. Our two memory care neighborhoods allow us to honor each person’s past while cherishing the present moments in a safe, cozy environment.
The Kensington Place team finds joy in going above and beyond for our residents.
Our Promise is to love and care for your family as we do our own, and this is exemplified in our two specialized memory care neighborhoods: Connections and Haven.
In our Connections neighborhood, the goal is to help residents be independently engaged in activities that give meaning and purpose to their days. This cozy, intimate neighborhood is for residents in the early to middle stages of Alzheimer’s and dementia.
As residents show increasing signs of memory loss, we continually assess their maximum cognitive ability and recall to “meet them where they are.” We focus on their strengths and comfort, providing support every step of the way.
Connections is fully secured for resident safety, with home-like living spaces that soothe and comfort. In sunny San Mateo county, we are able to provide plenty of outdoor spaces for fresh air.
Residents who are best suited for Connections may be experiencing:
We are able to monitor your loved one’s whereabouts to ensure their safety, while still providing plenty of life enrichment activities to enhance their independence.
Haven is designed for residents who are showing more advanced signs of memory loss. In a soothing and peaceful environment, resident comfort is maximized while they receive a higher level of care and assistance.
In Haven, residents are given opportunities to be involved in meaningful ways, while seeking to minimize agitation and maximize compassion.
Similarly to Connections, Haven is fully secured with wander management technology to protect residents. With an emphasis on soothing comfort, the kitchen is filled with music, laughter, and smells of home, such as freshly baked bread and cookies!
Residents best suited for Haven might be:
The Haven neighborhood also provides adaptive design features such as painted walls and doors, motion sensors, special carpet, and memory boxes. These features aid with recognition and confusion.
