We had a great show for our first ever Iron Chef Kensington Place placing Sous Chef Oliver Montes and Care Manager Luis Orellana versus Housekeeper Graciela Cervantes and Life Enrichment Coordinator Beatriz Chavez. Using the secret ingredient, Jicama, which was announced 30 seconds before cooking, the finished dishes included:

The guys cooked up:

  • Tempura jicama, carrots and shrimp Smoked Chicken Bombs stuffed with mozzarella & pineapple
  • Strawberry and jicama cheesecake

The ladies prepared:

  • Fresh tossed salad with jicama, tomatoes & red onion
  • Chicken sautéed in a white wine and lemon reduction with capers
  • Strawberries, jicama in a sweet cream sauce
