Our program is designed for new high school graduates, current college students, recent graduates, and career changers who want to transition into healthcare and receive essential on-the-job training and immediate job opportunities in a supportive environment.

You don’t need healthcare experience to join this program, only a willingness to learn.

Get ready to begin your 5-day paid training journey that will place you in a part-time or full-time Care Partner role.

Please Note: For those juggling another job, please ensure you can commit to the full 5-day training schedule. Attendance on all days is mandatory to achieve program completion.

After your training program concludes, you will celebrate your successful completion and step into your new career in senior care, either part-time or full-time role as a Care Partner, ready to make a significant impact on the lives of our residents.

Our Direct Care Training program is a gateway for high school graduates looking for full-time or part-time work, as well as current college students who need part-time positions while they study.

However, this position isn’t limited to just high school graduates and college students—it’s designed for anyone looking for a meaningful career in senior care that directly impacts people’s lives.

No previous healthcare experience is necessary to start. Our program is structured to provide all the on-the-job training you’ll need to excel as a Care Partner.

Ideal candidates for our program include:

  • High school graduates: Work full-time positions straight out of high school, or work part-time while continuing your college studies.
  • College graduates: Work part-time roles while you’re in college, or work full-time in the summer while you’re taking summer break.
  • LPN students and aspiring nurses: This program is great for nursing students looking for experience to put on their resumes. Kensington Place is always looking to hire LPNs and RNs, so this is a great foot in the door to our community. 
  • Current CNAs, HHAs, and PCAs: Current certified nurses assistants (CNAs), home health aides (HHAs), and personal care assistants (PCAs) already working at Kensington Place can take this course to advance their skills and step into more comprehensive Care Partner roles.
  • Career changers: This program isn’t limited to young students or graduates. Anybody can become a Care Partner with this program if they have the right attitude and are compassionate caregivers.
  • Individuals without prior healthcare experience: No previous healthcare experience is necessary. We’ll train you on the job to equip you with the skills to become a Care Partner.

Training curriculum: building expertise and compassion

Our Direct Training Program will teach you essential healthcare knowledge and hands-on skills to excel as a Care Partner in our assisted living and memory care communities.

  • Classroom discussions: Focus on understanding neurological disorders like Alzheimer’s, dementia, and Parkinson’s.
  • Practical sessions: Learn essential techniques for assisting with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), such as dressing, grooming, feeding, and more.
  • Dementia care and Positive Approach to Care (PAC) training: Receive specialized PAC training with the PAC curriculum to enhance your approach to dementia and Alzheimer’s care and caring for residents with mild to advanced memory loss issues.
  • 2 days of job shadowing: Gain real-world experience by shadowing seasoned team members for 2 days, putting classroom knowledge into practice.
